Best Restaurants -(Continental)
5 Spot
(Restaurants - Continental)
1502 Queen Anne Ave N
Seattle WA 98109
206-285-7768
Description:
QUEEN ANNE. Scan the menu at this fun and funky American eatery, and you'll likely find your favorite region of the States soundly represented, from Southern-style Tasso ham and honey-stung fried chicken to Northwestern salmon cakes and Southwestern shrimp enchilada con queso. Indeed, 5 Spot is nothing if not dynamic, even changing its artwork and decor every so often to transport patrons to various seasonal locales. Early-risers (and late-risers, too!) take heed their breakfast menu, available until midnight, features the likes of red flannel hash, smoked salmon scramble, and homestyle biscuits & gravy.

611 Supreme Creperie & Cafe
(Restaurants - Continental)
611 E Pine St
Seattle WA 98122
206-328-0292
Description:
CAPITOL HILL. This cozy red-brick eatery is ideal for people on a budget, especially if Sunday brunch is on the slate. As the name no doubt hints, homemade crêpes are the stars (many local rags regard these as the "best in town"), and the skilled chef stuffs them with everything from salmon, ham, and Gruyere cheese to scallions, potatoes, and sautéed veggies. Friendly, Parisian-esque service and a comfortable lounge make this an easy fave of Capitol Hill's young, hip crowd.

Anthony's HomePort
(Restaurants - Continental)
135 Lake St
Kirkland WA 98033-6140
425-822-0225
Description:
KIRKLAND. Anthony's HomePort enjoys immense popularity thanks largely to a mastery of fresh seafood, vegetables, and salads. Start with garlic herb mussels, and then try chargrilled halibut cheeks, fishermen's cioppino, fettuccine with fresh Dungeness crab, or even a NY steak. For dessert, consider homemade deep-dish apple crisp served with Olympia Mountain cinnamon ice cream. Enjoy great views of the water from inside the restaurant.

Axis
(Restaurants - Continental)
2214 1st Ave
Seattle WA 98121-1658
206-441-9600
Description:
BELLTOWN. Although this establishment touts itself as an urban restaurant, it could be argued that it is in fact more urbane than urban. Axis is the gathering spot for upwardly mobiles who live by the "see and be seen" credo. The place is always packed, both in the bar and the dining area. The interior is chic and sophisticated, as is the cuisine, which the owners describe as "post-fusion." Indeed, it's hard to forget such entrées as Oregon salmon with ginger miso, beef tenderloin with merlot au jus, and Szechwan chicken with black vinegar. Servings are generous, and entrées are accompanied by sides of mashed Yukon gold potatoes. Make sure to arrive early to get a seat.

Bick's Broadview Grill
(Restaurants - Continental)
10555 Greenwood Ave N
Seattle WA 98133
206-367-8481
Description:
GREENWOOD. This warm, inviting restaurant is in a former residence, and the lodge-like interior is highlighted by hardwood floors, exposed wood beams and ceiling, and starkly bare walls. If it's a meal you're after, Bick's is a great choice - especially if you like spicy. The menu features a number of hot and spicy entrees, as well as mild, but no less flavorful, options. For extra heat, there's an assortment of hot sauces on the table that you can try. If drinking is on the agenda, their pub-like bar area features about 40 microbrews on tap, plus a nice array of martinis.
